Their huts or houses are called kraals.

What did the Khoikhoi do?

The Khoikhoi were nomadic herders that herded long-horned cattle, fat-tailed sheep and goats (historyforkids.org). They originated from "aboriginal hunters of Southern Africa" (africanhistory.about.com).

Livestock
The Khoikhoi had many different animals in their livestock. Their livestock was only used for milk, like the cattle, and they were only slaughtered fro ritual occasions (lcweb2.loc.gov). Cattle was not considered product to the Khoikhoi, but they had a "ritual and social significance" (africanhistory.about.com) to them.

Fragile Economy
The Khoikhoi and the Dutch traded together, but it ended up badly. Because of that, the Khoikhoi's economy is so fragile (museum.com). Another reason why the economy is so bad is because the livestock came under theft, disease and drought (museum.com).

Now a days the herders of the Khoikhoi do not have a specific name for them. Their stocks are all individually owned as well.
